С�SƬ’s near-term targets approved by SBTi

С�SƬ, a leading Total Quality Assurance provider to industries worldwide, is pleased to announce that the Group’s near-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

С�SƬ applied for its near-term greenhouse gas emission targets to be validated by the SBTi and following a rigorous process, the SBTi has confirmed that С�SƬ’s science-based targets meet its strict criteria and recommendations.

С�SƬ is committed to:

• reducing absolute scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 50% by 2030 from a 2019 base year;
  
  
• reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions from business travel and employee commuting by 50% within the same timeframe;
  
  
• ensuring 70% of its suppliers by spend will have science-based targets by 2027.

The SBTi, a partnership between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), defines and promotes global best practice in science-based target setting and independently assesses and approves companies’ targets.

Through the validation of its scope 1, scope 2 and scope 3 targets, the SBTi has found С�SƬ to be in line with the ambition to limit global temperature increases to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

This achievement serves to reconfirm С�SƬ’s commitment to sustainable growth and acknowledges the Group’s ongoing efforts to limit the effects of climate change as part of the Race to Zero.
